Clarification of COVID-19 Precautions for Anderson City Court
The health and safety of our citizens, our public safety officers, and our staff is at the center everything Anderson City Court does. Anderson City Court has a high volume of cases and often experiences a courtroom filled with people. With the pandemic emergence of COVID-19, we have deemed it responsible to take precautionary measures to protect the health of all while continuing to provide necessary services to protect our citizens.
Per the Center for Disease Control and other local, state, and federal government resources, we will be revising our daily operations to achieve the social distancing recommendations to limit the size of gatherings and minimize the person to person contact where it is feasible and responsible.
As we navigate this unprecedented situation, we ask your understanding of these guidelines to our daily operations:
Please continue to submit online fines when possible.
All jail arraignments will continue as routinely scheduled.
All City Court hearings for those who are not incarcerated will temporarily be postponed through March 20, 2020, at which time our court room will receive additional disinfectant cleaning.
For all matters that can be handled over the phone electronically, we ask that you do so. Our caring staff will clarify any questions at 765-648-6078.
We will closely monitor this rapidly changing public health safety emergency and make revisions as we continue to consult with the Madison County Health Department and get additional guidance from the CDC as well other government resources.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Public safety and well-being remains our top priority.
