Trail System Paving Project
Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr. has announced that the City of Anderson will begin the paving of the final phase of the three-year project to widen and resurface the 9.5 miles of the City of Anderson trail system. The city previously completed approximately two-thirds of the widening and resurfacing of the trails, including the 2.5 miles of trails around Shadyside Lake, in 2017 and 2018. Earlier this summer, city park department widened the remainder of the trails and prepared them for paving. E&B Paving will begin the paving process on Thursday, August 15th and is expected to continue through Saturday, August 17th.Mayor Broderick explained that once the paving is completed, the city will begin working on boardwalk restoration and repairs.Mayor Broderick stated, “We are excited to continue our efforts at enhancing our park system, which is an important part of our quality of life in our community. I hope once completed, our citizens will take the time to enjoy this beautiful trail, which runs through our city.”
