New Service
New to Area:
Customers who have not had service with Anderson City Utilities within the past year will need to come into our office. We will need to see a picture ID and something to verify your Social Security number.
New Service Application
Renting:
When renting, the customer will need to come into the office with a rent receipt or a lease along with picture ID and something to verify the Social Security number.
Deposit:
If a customer does not currently have service with us we will either need a deposit or a letter of credit from the previous Utility Co. showing
1 year of service with an excellent credit record. The deposit is based on an average of 2 months bill for that address. The deposit must be paid up front.
The deposit is held on the account for two years time. If at the end of two years the account has been paid on time every month, the deposit will be applied
to the account as a payment. If payment has been slow during any of that period, the deposit will be held on the account until there has been two years of
excellent payment. If the customer would move in our service area during the time we are holding the deposit, the deposit can be transferred to the new
service. If the customer were to move out of our service area, the deposit would be applied to the final bill. The customer would then either receive a
refund for the remainder of the deposit or a bill letting the customer know what is yet due.
