Public Education and Outreach
The Stormwater Management Program is dedicated to educating all citizens about
the water quality issues facing our community today. A community informed and
knowledgeable about water quality issues is essential to the success of the City's
Stormwater Management Program. Every one of us can play a part in protecting
and enhancing our water resources. To learn more about what you can do to help
improve water quality visit the "What Can I Do?" page.
The City is currently forming diverse partnerships to achieve our public education
and outreach goals. In partnership with the White
River Watchers, Anderson Community Schools, and the Madison County Soil and Water Conservation
District the City has presented informational seminars on water quality issues
to approximately 1000 elementary school children in the Anderson Community
School System over the past two years.
The City has also presented information about the Stormwater Management Program
to various industry groups and civic organizations. If your organization is
interested in learning more about water quality issues in the Anderson area,
please contact Steve Goodman of the Stormwater Management Department at (765) 648-6129.
