Community Revitalization Enhancement DistrictDescription: A taxpayer is entitled to a credit against the taxpayer's state and local tax liability for a taxable year if the taxpayer makes a qualified investment in that year. The amount of the credit to which a taxpayer is entitled is the qualified investment made by the taxpayer during the taxable year multiplied by twenty-five percent (25%). A taxpayer may assign any part of the credit to which the taxpayer is entitled to a lessee of property redeveloped or rehabilitated.

Historical and Cultural Preservation CommissionDescription: The Historic and Cultural Preservation Commission is a seven member board appointed by the Mayor, Planning Commission and Common Council. They are responsible for making ‘appropriate’ recommendations to physical restorations and rehabilitations to the structures located within the West Central Historic District, West 8th Street Historic District and for the Individual Sites throughout Anderson. Special meetings may be scheduled and are announced in the local newspaper. Meetings on the first Tuesday are usually reserved for bill payment with meetings on the third Tuesday open for park operation issues and other special topics. Revolving Loan Fund BoardDescription: The City of Anderson, in cooperation with local banks, offers a low interest loan program for businesses located in Anderson. The Anderson Revolving Loan Fund offers loans of up to $100,000 at rates as low as four percentage points below the prime rate. Funds may be borrowed for up to 20 years, although loans are ballooned every two years for renewal. Borrowers must create at least one job for every $10,000 borrowed from the revolving loan fund
Tree CommissionDescription: The Tree Commission is a seven member volunteer board responsible for overseeing the general health and maintenance of Anderson's green infrastructure. They will routinely address street tree concerns and conflicts; oversee the tree service licensing program; review landscape plans for new development; and conduct educational events and seminars to increase the community's knowledge and understanding of the value of a healthy urban forest.
