City Hosts HireAnderson Job Fair
ANDERSON – IN – Mayor Thomas Broderick, Jr. has announced that the City of Anderson will be hosting the HireAnderson Job Fair on September 21, 2017 from 11am to 3pm at the Anderson Mounds Mall. Unemployed or underemployed Anderson residents will have the opportunity to connect with over 60 local and regional employers that are actively looking to hire.
Local service organizations will attend to highlight services such as resume assistance, building computer skills, and other employment-focused assistance. Residents are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume, although one is not required for participation in the Job Fair. The fair will be held in the space previously occupied by Sears in the mall, which is located directly across from Garfields Restaurant.
The City of Anderson, the Anderson Herald Bulletin, WorkOne and JobSource are sponsors of the event.
Participating employers include, but are not limited to:
NTK, Nestle USA, GTI, Precision Strip, Carter Express, Community Hospital, HDP, Red Gold, Inc., Madison County Community Health Center, Anderson Community Schools, AccuTrac, Precision Strip, Continental Engineering, First Call Staffing, Tecnoplast USA, WorkHere, Kleenco and Ivy Tech Community College.
Participating service organizations and those providing employment-focused assistance include:
Excel Center, United Way/Covering Kids and Families, Anderson Public Library, and Job Source/Work One.
In the announcement, Mayor Broderick stated, “We are excited to have so many job openings for our residents. Anyone who desires a new job opportunity should come to this job fair. These employers are looking for reliable individuals who have a strong work ethic. There will be several hundred-job opportunities available for our residents. I am hopeful everyone interested takes advantage of this event.”
