ANDERSON – IN – Mayor Thomas Broderick, Jr. and city officials dedicated a Frederick’s Friends swing Friday June 30th at Shadyside Park.
Kyle and Danielle Dunnichay-Noone, founders of Frederick’s Friends, awarded the gift to the Anderson Parks Department in September of 2016. The expression swing has been installed and is now available for all park users to enjoy. The Expression Swing promotes intergenerational play as adults and children swing together creating memories filled with fun and laughter.
Fredrick’s Friends was originally created to provide funding for hands and feet molds for families who have lost a precious baby at or near birth. In 2016, after overwhelming support, Frederick’s Friends expanded their mission statement to include gifts to charitable organizations, parks, and special community causes across Madison County. Foundation director Danielle Dunnichay-Noone stated, “Our intentions are to award a gift to a community each year in order to honor Frederick’s being. We are truly blessed for the support our foundation has received by the Madison county community and look forward to our new endeavors while continuing to provide molds to families though our partnership with St. Vincent and Community Hospital Anderson.”
Frederick’s Friends personally thanked Anderson Mayor Broderick, Parks Superintendent Rodney Chamberlain, Parks Superintendent Tom Tackett, Parks Department Employees, Anderson Park Board members, Director of the Madison County Community Foundation, Sally Devoe; the Madison County Community Foundation, and all who have provided strong support for enabling this gift to be a reality.
