May is National Bike Month and the City of Anderson is kicking off the calendar of events! Join us for the Mayor’s Bike Ride on May 5th at 6pm. The Mayor’s Ride will begin and conclude at Derby Downs, 1 North Madison Avenue, Anderson 46011. Please find the attached map of the 4 mile route, which will take approximately 30 minutes to complete at a leisurely pace. Follow the links below for the full calendar of National Bike Month events in Anderson!
The route begins at Derby Downs and heads east until Delaware Street. The group will head south on Delaware Street until 6th Street, where it would head west one block over to Brown Street, onto 8th Street. Riders will go west on 8th Street from Brown Street until the trail head near Raible Avenue. The group will then follow the White River Trace back to Derby Downs. By having the riders go west on 8th Street it keeps them on the north side of the road so that they don’t have to cross the street during the ride.
The White River Bike Coalition has put together a host of cycling events to celebrate National Bike Month! Check out www.madbiking.com and/or go to our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/whiteriverbc/) for details on all of the events.
